Mission and Goals of the Midwest Lipid Association
The mission of the National Lipid Association (MWLA) is to enhance the practice of lipid management in clinical medicine.
Consistent with the mission statement, the Midwest Lipid Association's goals are:
1. Professionalism
The MWLA will enhance medical knowledge, clinical skills, and related business activities that provide for more effective outcomes related to the mission of MWLA. Promoting and sustaining the highest ethical standards will be an essential component of these activities.
2. Multidisciplinary Approach
The MWLA will strive to provide professional activities that serve the mission of MWLA. All related health professionals will be able to join and train appropriate to their skills and representation.
3. Continuous Growth and Development
The MWLA will promote responsible outreach to all regions of the country to make available the benefits of the MWLA in every community.
4. Social Responsibility
The MWLA will promote its activities with the utmost respect to acceptable business practices. The MWLA will work within a democratic and capitalistic social structure ensuring all interactions with industry and other related organizations will be undertaken in a responsible and ethical fashion.
5. Cooperation
The MWLA will be supportive of other ethical organizations with common purposes and values and will seek active interactions with such organizations.
6. Public Service
The MWLA will enhance efforts to reduce death and disability of humankind related to disorders of lipid metabolism.
