Program Objectives

Target Audience

This activity is designed to meet the needs of physicians, physician assistants, pharmacists, nurses, and registered dietitians interested in lipid management.

Statement of Need

The 11th Annual Scientific Forum of the Southeast Lipid Association will present scientific updates in dyslipidemia and clinical management strategies designed to advance the professional development of NLA members and promote improvements in patient care.

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this educational activity, participants should be able to:

  • Review and discuss the clinical implications of recent controversial landmark trials
  • Identify potential roles for Vitamin D and fatty acids in atherosclerosis development
  • Distinguish effects of ethnicity and the role of LDL particle composition on CHD risk stratification
  • Recognize the health benefits of novel lifestyle therapies for the management of cardiometabolic risk
  • Assess and employ a multifaceted approach to dyslipidemia and metabolic derangements to improve cardiovascular outcomes
  • Identify the metabolic and lipoprotein abnormalities associated with Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS)
