Fred H. Faas, MD Elected President of Southeast Lipid Association

Fred H. Faas, MD was recently elected to serve as President of the Southeast Lipid Association (SELA) at the 7th Annual Scientific Forum held at the Pinehurst Resort in Pinehurst, North Carolina. Dr. Faas is a Professor of Medicine at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences, and a staff physician at the Central Arkansas Veterans Health Care System in Little Rock, Arkansas.

Dr. Faas received his bachelor's degree in chemistry at the University of Kansas in Lawrence, Kansas, and received his medical degree from the University of Kansas Medical School. He completed his residency in internal medicine at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences, and completed his fellowship in endocrinology at the University of Arkansas Medical Center in Little Rock, Arkansas.

Dr. Faas currently serves as Vice Chairman of the University of Arkansas for Medical Science Institutional Review Board. Dr. Faas is a member of the Endocrine Society, the American Oil Chemists Society, and the Arteriosclerosis Council of the American Heart Association, and a fellow of the American College of Physicians. Dr. Faas has published numerous articles in peer reviewed journals and also serves as a manuscript reviewer for various journals.
