Nominations for 2007-2008 Officers and Board of Directors

The Nominating Committee has approved the following nominations of members to serve on the SELA Board of Directors for the terms specified. The slate of nominees is presented for vote by the membership present at the business luncheon on August 4, 2007. The office of President and Immediate Past-President are automatic and no election is necessary.

Immediate Past President Dan Wise, MD, Charlotte, NC

President-Elect Carol Mason, ARNP, FAHA, Tampa, FL
Treasurer Wm. James Howard, MD, Washington, DC
Secretary Terry Jacobson, MD, Atlanta, GA

Board of Directors Nominees

For a three-year term expiring in 2010 Greg Cohn, MD, Boca Raton, FL
Fred Faas, MD, Little Rock, AR
Paul Ziajka, MD, PhD, Winter Park, FL
Barbara Wiggins, PharmD, Charlottesville, VA

As an ex-officio (non-voting) member the Nominating Committee would like to add Elissa Thompson MD., Georgetown University Hospital, as an "in-training" representative to the Board of Directors. This is not a formal position but one which the nominating committee believes would add value to the society in its mission.

The Board of Directors also wishes to thank Vera Bittner, MD who is rotating off the Board of Directors due to term expirations this year. Dr. Bittner has actively served on the SELA board since its beginning. She currently serves as an officer on the NLA Board of Directors

The Toard also wishes to thank Gerald Feltcher, MD who has accepted a 2 year term as chair of the American Heart Association's Council on Clinical Cardiology.

Connie Grantham, RN has served on the SELA Board of Directors for two years. Ms. Grantham helped with the development and adoption of the Accreditation Council for Clinical Lipidology.

Todd Brown, MD served on the SELA Board as the In-Training member. The board wishes to thank him for his service.
