WelcomeDear Colleagues, The National Lipid Association (NLA) is pleased to invite you to participate in the Inaugural Scientific Forum of our latest chapter, the Southwest Lipid Association (SWLA), to be held February 10–12, 2006 at the Hyatt Regency Hill Country Resort in San Antonio, Texas. SWLA offers health care professionals in the Southwest opportunities for professional development, comprehensive lipid-focused education, and networking with colleagues on a regional level. The formation of SWLA is also another step toward our goal of building a strong and unified national association from the drive and enthusiasm of the members of our regional chapters. We hope that you will join us at the 2006 Inaugural Meeting where we will focus on issues affecting the Southwestern states – The Impact of Metabolic Syndrome, Dyslipidemia and Ethnicity on Cardiovascular Health. With presentations from more than 25 thought-leaders, we will discuss everything from the debate surrounding the metabolic syndrome to the newest strategies for reducing cardiovascular risk and changing behavior in special populations. The conference will end with a series of practical, interactive workshops. This 2-day program is sponsored for CME credit by the NLA and offers 10.5 hours of continuing education credit to keep you up-to-date in the dynamic field of lipid management. If you are interested in pursuing certification as a lipid specialist by the American Board of Clinical Lipidology (lipidboard.org), attending your annual meeting will help you meet the Board's eligibility requirements and prepare you for this rigorous exam. An exciting addition to the Southwest meeting is a pre-conference course sponsored by the NLA:
On behalf of the SWLA Program Planning Committee and the NLA Board of Directors, we wish to extend our thanks to all of you who have helped make the new Southwest chapter a reality, and we encourage everyone to support us in celebrating this triumph at the Inaugural Meeting! Sincerely,
|
