Dear Colleague,

We cordially invite you to participate in the 3rd Annual Scientific Forum of the Southwest Lipid Association, which is being held July 18-20, 2008, at the Marriott City Center in beautiful Denver, Colorado. While the venue is impressive, our meeting will be equally remarkable, featuring a broad range of key topics in clinical lipidology and cardiometabolic risk-reduction presented by an outstanding faculty.

Our chapter of the National Lipid Association is growing, and our program this year is designed to capture the breadth and scope of our members' interests. The agenda is broken into three main sections, namely, "Lipid Science Update," "Treatment of Obesity and Reduction of Cardiometabolic Risk," and issues presented by "Special Populations." Thus, we are looking at the state of the science, clinical trials and new approaches and targets, then exploring lifestyle and dietary modification, and finally looking at special patient groups, including the young, the elderly, and women.

For those in search of additional education, we have pre-conference courses providing a Board Review and Lipid Management Training, and Sunday offers the Lipid Clinic Operations course. To help you stay refreshed, take a look at the special events we've arranged, including hiking, a city run/walk, and even yoga. As always, the highlight of any Scientific Forum is the President's Dinner, and this one is no exception. We urge you to join us at the elegant Ellington's Room at the Brown Palace Hotel for dining, dancing, and fun with your colleagues and friends.

Great attendance makes for a great meeting-register today and we'll see you in the Mile High City.
