FOCUSED LIPID EDUCATION
Cardiometabolic Risk-Reduction Program
The Comprehensive Cardiometabolic Risk-Reduction Program will address novel strategies for the management of cardiometabolic risk factors, including dyslipidemia, dysglydemia, hypertension, excess bodyweight/central adiposity, and emerging markers.
Lipid Management Training Course
This intermediate level course will present a comprehensive indoctrination to clinical lipidology and will provide essential information and resource materials for the systematic management of dyslipidemia in a lipid clinic program. This course will provide you with the knowledge and tools necessary to work effectively in lipid practice, and will serve as a preparatory course for more advanced lipid education and training courses.
Lipid Clinic Operations and Development Course - New Course
Key Operational and Clinical Considerations for Lipid and Metabolic Syndrome Clinic Development
Participants in this course will be presented with a comprehensive overview of how to develop and successfully operate a lipid clinic. The course will examine the key characteristic of successful lipid clinic programs and will cover program organization from both an operational and clinical framework. All participants will receive supplementary materials for use in lipid practice including flow sheets, patient education materials, forms and more.
Nutrition Counseling Workshop - New Course
This half-day workshop is designed to assist all levels of healthcare practitioners in improving their nutrition counseling skills. It will include discussions on building rapport and listening skills, application of principles and techniques involved in interviewing, assessing and providing nutrition counseling, and developing goals/outcomes and therapeutic relationships with patients/clients. Small group role-playing will focus on case-study evaluation and simulated nutrition counseling with patients.
ADVANCED LIPID EDUCATION
Masters in Lipidology Advanced Training & Board Review Course
This intensive 2-day board review course is offered by the NLA to members seeking an in-depth, advanced review of the specialty and/or certification by the American Board of Clinical Lipidology or the Accreditation Council for Clinical Lipidology.
Masters Summit Conferences
The NLA Masters Summit Series is designed for NLA members who are at the "Masters" level, including certified clinical lipidologists, researchers and Industry representatives who would like to pursue in-depth study of specific novel topics in lipidology, such as HDL therapeutics. The Summits are offered annually as one-day symposia focusing on the latest science and clinical research related to lipids and lipid metabolism.
