
Overview2010 Course Dates Saturday, October 2, 2010 Friday, October 8, 2010 This newly defined NLA program focuses on the practical aspects of office-based weight management for patients with cardiometabolic risk. The role and benefits of weight loss approaches in cardiometabolic risk reduction will be reviewed, and expert insight regarding their clinical implementation will be provided. This course incorporates interactive case vignettes and basic quality improvement strategies to assist you in setting standards-based performance goals for managing various patient populations. Program tools will support patient education, outcomes measurement and practice improvement. Throughout 2010, the educational curriculum will be delivered regionally at 3-hour live CME courses provided at the NLA Scientific Meetings as well as at other regional venues. For those members who participate in the Cardiometabolic Risk Reduction course, the program serves as a gateway to participate in an ongoing performance improvement network (via www.lipid.org) and to take steps toward fulfilling the NLA's professional development pathway.
