On behalf of Australian Atherosclerosis Society (AAS), we would like to invite you to participate in this meeting, to be held at the National Wine Centre, Adelaide, from Wednesday October 19 to Friday 22 October 2011.

 

We are also delighted to be collaborating with the Australian and New Zealand Obesity Society (ANZOS) and will be coordinating our programs and jointing presenting sessions on Thursday October 20. Plenary sessions which should appeal to all delegates have been planned, along with several concurrent sessions.

A key strategy for addressing heart disease and stroke is to educate the public and healthcare practitioners about the importance of prevention. When healthcare providers perform consistent risk factor assessments, more patients can be properly diagnosed and medically managed to prevent cardiovascular disease. Both primary and secondary prevention, as well as new developments in the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of cardiovascular disease, need to be addressed.
