Non-HDL cholesterol is easy to use, available in every lipid panel. It correlates better than LDL-C with Apo-B / LDL-P, containing nearly every atherogenic lipid fraction. It is a secondary target of therapy when triglycerides are greater than 200 mg/dL. Non-HDL-C remains underutilized.
