Lipid Insights Journal Club Hosts Roundtable Discussion on ENHANCE

The ENHANCE trial results published in the April 2008 New England Journal of Medicine were controversial, and the National Lipid Association was asked for comment by its membership. While the Association's statement was a formal position regarding how practitioners ought to interpret the ENHANCE findings, there remained some open questions regarding the meaning of the study and its implications for the field of clinical lipidology.

To address those additional concerns, the Midwest Lipid Association used its turn at hosting the Lipid Insights Virtual Journal Club to hold a roundtable discussion about ENHANCE among several experts and thought leaders in lipidology. These were Dr. Jennifer Robinson, who chaired the discussion, Dr. Evan Stein, who is one of the ENHANCE trial authors, along with Drs. Michael Davidson, B. Greg Brown and Jerome Cohen. The panel moderator was Dr. Larry Kaskel.
