The Education Council is focused on developing the overall educational agenda of the NLA. The following committees will report to the Education Council:

Inter-Professional Continuing Education (ICE) Committee

The Inter-Professional Continuing Education (ICE) Committee, formerly Continuing Medical Education (CME) Committee, oversees the NLA's overall program of Professional Development and Continuing Medical Education consistent with guidelines established by the Accreditation Council for Medical Education (ACCME), the American Medical Association (AMA) and other professional organizations designated to provide continuing education credit for allied health professionals.

Lipid Scholarship Program (LSP) Committee

The Lipid Scholarship Program (LSP) Committee fosters high quality training programs in clinical lipidology for physicians and allied health trainees; develops career and educational opportunities for trainees in a variety of settings; and serves as the NLA's liaison with other organizations involved in graduate medical education or allied health training programs.

 

Scientific Meetings Committee

The Scientific Meetings Committee is responsible for overseeing the planning and format of the NLA annual scientific sessions, and two regional Clinical Lipid Update meetings each year.

Core Curriculum Committee

The Core Curriculum Committee is responsible for peridiocally reviewing the NLA's Core Curriculum in Lipidology and recommending changes based on current best evidence and practice.
