Suparna Visits 1 and 2: Cardiovascular Disease Risk Assessment and Management of a Woman with Metabolic Syndrome

In this case, we will review the history of a 22-year old woman of Asian-Indian descent who presents with metabolic syndrome. Patient assessment and management during 2 sequential physician visits will be discussed. Recognition of elevated cardiovascular risk in a patient typically overlooked for aggressive cardiovascular intervention will be reinforced during this case review.

Target Audience:
This activity has been designed to meet the needs of physicians, physician assistants, pharmacists, registered nurses, nurse practitioners, and registered dietitians with an interest in the management of residual risk associated with the metabolic syndrome and obesity.
