The NLA Announces 2023 Educational Plan

Are you excited for a new year with the NLA? While we still have so much to accomplish in 2022, there is a lot of excitement about what we will be doing as we head into 2023. The NLA has developed a series of educational activities and engagement opportunities for our members and those interested in lipid management near and far, and we cannot wait for you to take advantage of all the offerings! Here are some of the plans for 2023:

We’re excited to announce the NLA’s Pentathlon Challenge as we Aim for Atlanta and the 2023 Scientific Sessions. The Pentathlon Challenge is an Olympic-inspired theme consisting of free and for purchase activities from January 1, 2023, through June 1, 2023. The Pentathlon (5 months) will engage members through a variety of both CME/CE and non-CME/CE live and on-demand activities. At least one activity will be made available each week in different categories. Participation in an activity will award participants and the Region/Chapter they represent with points. Point totals will be tracked and shared through a leader board on the NLA website.

Each Chapter of the NLA will represent a ring in the logo. Chapters will have a designated flag and will encourage their membership to participate in as many activities as possible. Participants will be encouraged to complete at minimum one activity each month. Points will be awarded for each activity and additional points may be earned through supplementary challenges like getting a colleague to join the NLA and/or liking or reposting our content on social media. The activities will culminate at the Scientific Sessions in Atlanta on June 1-4, 2023. Individual winners of the Pentathlon Challenge will be awarded with Gold, Silver, and Bronze medals. The winning Chapters will participate in a live Jeopardy game on the main stage in Atlanta during the sessions.

Stay tuned over as additional information is shared. You will be prompted to create your profile for the Pentathlon Challenge and begin adding events to your calendar.   The NLA challenges each of you to Aim for Atlanta by participating in the Pentathlon and representing your Chapter.

The 2023 Scientific Sessions will be held June 1-4, 2023 at the Omni Atlanta Hotel at CNN Center, with our pre-conference courses on May 31-June 1, 2023. We will be back together in-person for four days of top-notch education made up of our general sessions, symposia programs, and industry-sponsored expert theaters. Abstract submissions, awards ceremonies, and other fun events are planned.

NEW THIS YEAR! The meeting will feature more action-oriented opportunities to get moving throughout the meeting and our much-anticipated live Jeopardy session hosted by an NLA leader on the General Session stage. In addition, we will be packing meals for less fortunate families on Sunday morning of the Sessions (onsite at the Omni) in partnership with a local food bank dedicated to providing food and basic resources assistance to reduce food and resource insecurity – please make sure your plans include giving back to this great organization and participating onsite.

Registration for the Scientific Sessions will be available by the end of October 2022. Register by the end of the year for bonus savings! This meeting will also offer virtual registration for those unable to get to Atlanta.

The NLA’s Fall 2023 Clinical Lipid Update will take place in Scottsdale, AZ on September 8-10, 2023. Offering three days of scientific sessions and pre-conference courses, this meeting will continue to offer sessions on the latest science and additional opportunities to learn and engage with your colleagues and peers.

We will be back at the highly demanded Westin Kierland Hotel for a weekend full of fun, education, and opportunity.
