2026 #NLASession Flash Forum Lineup

Flash Forums are short, high energy educational sessions held in the Exhibit Hall during peak breaks at the meeting. Designed for quick engagement, these programs deliver focused insights in a fast paced, easy to attend format while you’re exploring the hall.

Each Flash Forum will offer a fun and immersive silent theater experience—attendees are handed a pair of fresh headphones upon entering and simply plug in at their seat to hear the speaker clearly while drowning out Exhibit Hall noise. Standing room attendees can still listen, as the speaker is also mic’d through the theater speakers

CAD Polygenic Risk Scores in Guideline-Aligned Precision Prevention

2:00-2:15pm CT | Sponsored by Allelica

Speaker: Jen Kintzle, Allelica Head of Product

The 2026 NLA Scientific Sessions come at a pivotal moment for preventive cardiology. For the first time, the 2026 ACC/AHA multisociety dyslipidemia guidelines recognize coronary artery disease polygenic risk score (PRS) as a risk-enhancing factor, supporting its use in clinical risk assessment and lipid management.

The presentation will focus on the clinical implementation of CAD PRS: how it identifies inherited risk often missed by LDL-C, family history, CAC and traditional risk calculators. CAD PRS integrates with PREVENT-ASCVD and can support earlier, more personalized lipid-lowering decisions.

The clinical relevance of CAD PRS is supported by evidence that genetic risk interacts with LDL-C, amplifying LDL-associated risk to levels comparable to hypercholesterolemia, even in individuals whose LDL-C appears normal. High CAD PRS has also been associated with more high-risk, non-calcified plaque and faster plaque progression over time, reinforcing its role in identifying risk before atherosclerotic disease becomes clinically apparent. This aligns with the new guideline approach, emphasizing lifelong risk assessment and earlier intervention to prevent plaque formation.
