The Scientific Meetings Committee is responsible for overseeing the planning and format of the NLA annual scientific sessions, and two regional Clinical Lipid Update meetings each year.
The Mission of the Scientific Meetings Committee is responsible for overseeing the planning and format of the NLA annual scientific sessions, and two regional Clinical Lipid Update meetings each year.
The Scientific Meetings Committee includes two Co-Chairs, the NLA President, NLA President-Elect, and representatives from each discipline, and three appointed representatives, each Chapter President, and a representative from the ICE Committee.
Chair and Co-Chair serve two (2) year terms appointed by NLA President and Board (May); Committee members appointed annually (May) by NLA President and Board.
- The Committee shall establish the themes and oversee the planning process for the annual scientific meetings of the NLA, including the NLA Annual Scientific Sessions and the two annual Clinical Lipid Update meetings to ensure that they meet member needs, support the Core Curriculum in Clinical Lipidology, and the Annual Needs Assessment and are planned in a cohesive manner.
- The Committee, is responsible for ensuring appropriate educational formats (workshops, breakout sessions, concurrent tracks, oral presentations, poster presentations, symposia, etc.); are used in the planning of annual Scientific Sessions and regional Clinical Lipid Updates for the desired outcomes.
