AstraZeneca Purchases Omthera

On Tuesday, May 28, AstraZeneca announced that it plans to purchase Omthera, a specialty pharmaceutical company that specializes in developing therapies for patients with dyslipidemia. According to the AstraZeneca website, the company plans to file a supplemental new drug application with the U.S. FDA for Epanova, a treatment developed by Omthera for patients with mixed dyslipidemia, later this year.
