A Message from the 2014/15 President of the Midwest Lipid Association
It is truly an honor to serve as President of the Midwest Lipid Association; following in the steps of those who have brought energy, knowledge, enthusiasm, and creativity to the role. It is a somewhat daunting responsibility!
We face the continued challenge of providing guidance to physicians and health care organizations as they adapt to guideline changes in order to maximize impact on patient care. We will accomplish this by maintaining the emphasis on educating for prevention, and providing diverse resources for colleagues to enhance clinical skills in providing evidence-based care.
We also will continue to support the objectives of the National Lipid Association (NLA) in the coming year with the focus on triglyceride awareness and the clinical use of non-HDL as a risk marker.
Further, it is always our goal to increase the presence of the NLA and its membership, as well as participate in providing high quality clinical updates and meetings.
I look forward to an exciting year, and will work hard toward continued growth and excellence!
