The 2014 Impact Factors were recently released and the Journal of Clinical Lipidology (JCL) saw another increase — from 3.587 (2013) to 3.904 (2014). The Journal is now ranked 44th out of 254 journals in its category (pharmacology and pharmacy). The Thomson-Reuters Impact Factor represents the ratio of articles quoted in other scientific publications compared to the total qualifying articles during the years 2012 and 2013.

“The Editorial Board and staff should be very pleased with the progress of our Journal of Clinical Lipidology over the past 8.5 years," says W. Virgil Brown, MD, FNLA, Editor-in-Chief of the JCL. "From a start-up we are now increasingly recognized throughout the world for providing high quality information to those interested in Clinical Lipidology. The Impact Factor for 2014 has reached 3.90. This is a measure of how often our published articles are being referenced in other medical journals. I am even more pleased by the growth in downloads of full length articles form our website. The number of such downloads has increased each year reaching 11,000 per month, an annual rate of 132,000. This means that individual physicians, scientists and other healthcare workers are using the Journal at a personnel level to learn of the latest advancements."
