According to the second part of the joint scientific statement by the National Lipid Association (NLA), American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery (ASMBS), and Obesity Medicine Association (OMA), bariatric surgery improves multiple cardiovascular risk factors, including blood pressure, kidney function and glucose metabolism, The second part of the statement was published in the March/April issue of Surgery for Obesity and Related Diseases, the official journal of ASMBS.
