Message from Dr Daniel Duprez, Newly Elected President of the Midwest Lipid Association
It is truly an honor to serve as President of the Midwest Lipid Association; following in the steps of those who have brought energy, knowledge, enthusiasm, and creativity to the role.
We face the continued challenge of providing guidance to health care providers, nurses, dieticians, pharmacists, and health care organizations as they adapt to guideline changes in order to maximize impact on patient care in order to reduce cardiovascular morbidity and mortality. We will accomplish this by maintaining the emphasis on educating for prevention, and providing diverse resources for colleagues to enhance clinical skills in providing evidence-based and a precision-based care. We will also increase our endeavor to educate different patient-groups and also to raise more awareness of lipid abnormalities in the community beyond the other classical risk factors.
Further, it is always our goal to increase the presence of the NLA and its membership, as well as participate in providing high quality clinical updates and meetings.
I look forward to an exciting year, and will work hard toward continued growth and excellence!
