Does your 2015 calendar include the NLA Scientific Sessions from June 11 to 14? This annual meeting will bring more than 550 lipidologists and healthcare professionals to the Palmer House Hotel in Chicago to learn about the latest research on emerging topics in lipids and other cardiovascular risks.

This gathering is not only an opportunity to network and build relationships with thought leaders in the field, it is also anchored by scientific advancement through both oral and poster presentations showcasing new research, and will have powerful real-world implications for those dedicated to preventive cardiology. Given the ongoing and spirited debate about cholesterol management (in light of the Part 1 Recommendations the NLA debuted in September 2014 and the IMPROVE-IT results from the 2014 American Heart Association Scientific Sessions), the 2015 NLA Scientific Sessions are shaping up to be particularly important. View the agenda, topics and speaker here.

“The NLA Scientific Sessions are the educational highlights of the year for our membership,” said Carl E.  Orringer, MD and President-Elect of the NLA. “It is a great opportunity to be updated on the latest, clinically relevant information and to network with our clinical lipidology peers.”

Abstracts awards will be given during the NLA Scientific Sessions, including the new FNLA Hunninghake FH Abstract Award for the best submitted abstract in the area of familial hypercholesterolemia (FH) research and the NLA Young Investigator Awards for lead presenters who are in-training students, residents, and fellows or members in practice for less than five years.

Submissions for abstracts will be accepted until Feb. 23, 2015. Submitted abstracts will be considered for the poster hall and oral presentation during the abstract session of the meeting, and all accepted abstracts will be published in the annual Scientific Sessions edition of the Journal of Clinical Lipidology. Find more information about abstract submission here.

We hope to see you in Chicago in June for this important annual gathering!
