Committees of the NLA Executive CommitteeThe following committees will report to the Executive Committee: |
Executive CommitteeThe Executive Committee, consisting of the officers of the NLA, shall act on behalf of the Board of Directors to administer the affairs of the Association between meetings of the Board of Directors, subject to the general policies established by the Board of Directors. |
Finance CommitteeThe Finance Committee provides financial oversight for the NLA by assisting the Executive Director with financial planning, reporting, and suggesting sound financial policy. The Finance Committee is charged with assuring financial controls and reviewing the financial statements of the NLA. |
Honors and Awards CommitteeThe Honors and Awards Committee determines the criteria for the awards of the NLA (e.g., Fellow of the NLA, Distinguished Achievement Award, and Honorary Lifetime Membership Award). The Honors and Awards Committee meets annually to determine the winners of each aforementioned award and appointment of new Fellows of the NLA. |
Scientific Statements CommitteeThe committee is responsible for suggesting topics and adjudicating proposals before submission to the NLA Board of Directors for approval. |
Nominating CommitteeThe Nominating Committee oversees the process of recommending members to the NLA Board of Directors. The Nominating Committee meets annually to make suggestions to the Board for vacant seats on the Board of Directors. |
Project Review CommitteeThe Project Review Committee will develop and review specific educational activities (CME/CE-certified and non-CME) under the direct auspices of the NLA Board of Directors and Executive Committee. Activities are designed to improve the knowledge, competence and skills of health professionals involved in the delivery of clinical lipid care as well as to provide educational outreach to non-members on topics of greatest need. The Project Review Committee will seek to round out the NLA educational program and professional development track by providing activities in a variety of formats, including but not limited to live meetings and courses, online, print, self-assessment programs, case presentations and performance improvement activities. |
